Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to assist with general ledger clean-up and stabilization. This role will focus on reviewing historical activity, ensuring accurate balances, and bringing core accounting functions up to date. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable stepping into an environment that requires cleanup and correction.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and clean up the general ledger, including posting and reviewing adjusting journal entries
- Perform account reconciliations (bank, balance sheet, and key GL accounts)
- Manage and reconcile inventory accounting, including valuation and cost accuracy
- Review, reconcile, and maintain fixed asset schedules, including depreciation
- Identify errors or gaps in historical accounting and recommend corrective actions
- Ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and audit-ready
- Assist with or prepare tax filings (sales/use, property, payroll, or income tax), as needed
- Improve documentation and accounting processes to support ongoing operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including cleanup or remediation work
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Experience with inventory and fixed asset accounting
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of outcomes
- Tax filing experience is a strong plus
